An alert was issued by the police on Thursday after Edwards was attacked by an unknown person in the 3500 block of Forest Hill Road in Gwynn Oak and forced into a van, according to officials.

What could have ended tragically ended on a positive note, as he was located "alive and well" the Baltimore County Police Department declared on Friday morning.

A vehicle used in the attack has reportedly been recovered by the police.

No details about Edwards' possible assailant have been released by investigators, who are still working to develop a motive for the assault.

Anyone with information regarding Edwards' abduction has been asked to contact the Baltimore County Police Department by calling 911 or (410) 307-2020.
